Live, from outside the FOX 25 Beacon Hill studios, Boston criminal defense attorney and former state and federal prosecutor, Brad Bailey, joins Maria Stephanos to discuss the charges against Stephen Silva (not to be confused with his twin brother Steven Silva), and how they may relate to the Boston Marathon Bombing case. Stephen Silva is facing heroin trafficking and gun possession charges in federal court.
The Silva brothers attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and have been identified as close childhood friends. It is currently speculated that the gun which Stephen Silva is charged with possessing, a Ruger P95 semiautomatic 9mm pistol with obliterated serial number, was passed to the Tsarnaev brothers and possibly is the same gun used to kill MIT Officer Sean Collier the day after the bombing. A Ruger P95 semiautomatic 9mm pistol with obliterated serial number was recovered at the scene of the Watertown shootout between the Tsarnaevs and police.
Brad and Maria discuss the case against Silva, the possibility of additional charges, the relation to the Tsarnaev case, and the growing web of characters and evidence in the Boston Marathon Bombing cases.
